55-year-old accountant from Angarsk transferred 490 thousand rubles to scammers

Fraudsters deceived the accountant of an educational institution in the city of Angarsk for 490 thousand rubles, according to the website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Irkutsk Region on March 10.

Angarchanka received a call from a woman who introduced herself as a bank employee and said that the fraudsters were allegedly trying to steal money from the accounts of the interlocutor. To prevent the operation from taking place, the woman told the Angara woman to transfer the money to a "safe account".

“Convinced of the need for these actions, a resident of the city of petrochemists fulfilled the requirements of the unknown and transferred over 490 thousand rubles to the account indicated to her. Only after that I called the bank's hotline and found out that fraud had been committed against her, ”the message says.

A criminal case was initiated under the article "Fraud", the sanctions of which provide for imprisonment for up to 5 years.
